Just in time for Christmas (sorta), this book contains the story of Rammastide, the Third Earther's version of Christmas which also appears in the 92 Annual. It's a time of celebration harkening back to when Third Earth was liberated from Mumm-Ra's rule the first time. But at this time, a creatue not unlike a more feline version of an abomidable snowman walks the land and terrorizes the people. This year it comes to Cats Lair. But the 'Cats soon realize he's not attacking Cats Lair but hugging it. It seems the Lair resembles the creature, who has been nursing a broken heart over the loss of his mate. Awwww. Now he has a building to hump! heh heh, those crazy cats!
This is another of those rare one-shot issues.

Largely based on the episode of the same name, this version sports a few differnces to the televised episode. The biggest one is the way it starts out - sure the kittens rescue a traveling Wolo from attacking theives but the Wolo turns out to be not-so-poor and WilyKat plays dead as a tasteless practical joke. From there, other minor differences occur, but see my episode reviews for more information.
This is a reprint of US Star issue #17.

Panthro builds a ship called the Thunderclaw and goes out to test it. He made it to retrieve his Tank, which was left stuck and stranded in issue No. 36. As Lion-O holds the 'Claw steady while Panthro hooks up the Tank, Slithe ambushes them. Panthro is taken prisoner but Lion-O gives chase in the 'Claw - with the Tank attached and all.
However, he's not skilled on the machine and doesn't fly it so well. He has to land and loses the Mutants. He uses the Sword of Omens to find the Mutant campsite on the banks of the river. He rescues Panthro using his own skills and learns the lesson that one cannot always rely on machines and technology. Magic swords, sure!
#47 RAMPAGE PART 1

While out collecting wood to make a table for a banquet the Tcats were going to host that night, Tygra is bitten by a bug that resembles a tiny scorpion. At the time, he merely assumes he got a splinter from the axe handle and goes on as normal.
Later that night during the feast at the Lair, Tygra goes nuts. He smashes the table, tosses some berbils around and hurts his own friends. Everyone is baffled, especially when the tiger cannot be reasoned with.
Willa explains his behavior means he was likely bitten by the Wood Lucifer bug, which causes inexplicable madness in its victim. She shockingly recommends Lion-O "put him to the sword" to put him out of his misery, as the cure isn't worth the sacrifice. Of course, Lion-O refuses and inquires about this cure.
Willa tells the tale of her own mother, and how she too was bitten and went mad. The maidens took her, in a cage so she couldn't hurt anyone, to the forest of silence and waited for the quiet to cure her. However, the maidens who stayed with her lost their sanity in the silence. Lion-O is willing to risk it to save his friend.
Everyone heads out to look for Tygra, but he returns to the Lair while they're out and attacks the Kittens who were left behind to stand guard - hurting WilyKit badly.
#48 RAMPAGE PART 2

The warrior maidens find and capture Tygra, and Willa wants to execute him to spare him and everyone else the possibility of getting the disease. However, Tessa stops her and convinces her that the Thundercats have to decide the fate of their friend.
Lion-O takes Tygra to the forest of silence and keeps him there, tied to a tree. However, since there are creatures in the forest who would hurt the vulnerable Tygra, Lion-O must stay and indure the silence. It nearly drives him mad. Tygra eventually is cured and Lion-O manages to narrowly escape with his own sanity intact.
