Despite Mumm-Ra's pleas for rest, the ASOE disturb him to show him a vision in the cauldron. This vision is of the Mirror Wraith, a devilish creature of evil. The spirits tell Mumm-Ra to watch the sky for a sign which will signal his opportunity to employ the Wraith against the Thundercats.
Back in the new Lair on New Thundera, Panthro, Lynx-O and Lion-O have tracked something headed toward New Thundera. They discover it's an escape pod from a Thunderian ship and wonder if it holds refugees. The bad news is, the pod will land in the Forest of Darkness, so the Lion-O and Lynx-O rush off to intercept.
Mumm-Ra also notices the pod and watches it land via his cauldron. What emerges he takes as the sign the spirits spoke of - a small, frightened young cheetah clan girl alone in the dark woods. He summons the Mirror Wraith but then transforms him into a cute little doll. Then Mumm-Ra ventures to the forest in his decayed form to appear before Leah, the young girl. He tells her the Thundercats will rescue her soon, but that in order to find her parents, she must use the magic doll he gives to her. But, she must also keep secret from whom she got the doll. Leah is grateful and promises to keep their secret.
Sure enough, the Thundercats arrive soon in the Whisker and take Leah back to the Lair. While Snarf gives her all the food she could want to eat, Panthro has located a device in her pod that recorded where Leah came from and other vital information about the girl. They find out the fleet Leah and her parents were a part of hit a meteor shower and everyone had to eject. The odds were good that her parents' pods also made it to New Thundera, but they hadn't been located as of yet.
In the meantime, Snarf ushers Leah off to get some sleep. As Leah is dozing off, the doll she was given comes to life. She's shocked, but the doll reminds her that if she wants to see her parents again to keep quiet. The doll then disappears into her bedroom mirror and re-emerges through a mirror in the hall. It then morphs into its true form and starts destroying the control room of the Lair. The Thundercats manage to fight it off, but it escapes down the hall, turns back into the doll and jumps through a mirror.
Lion-O is pondering where it could be when Snarf worries that it might be in Leah's room. When they get there, the doll had already reminded Leah that she'll never see her parents again if she tells their secret, so she fails to tell Lion-O anything. She is merely told to go back to sleep.
As Panthro assesses the damage, he realizes that all the exits are sealed so he knows that creature is still in the Lair. How right they are. When the Wraith thinks Leah is asleep, he turns back into his true form and has a conference with Mumm-Ra in the mirror. However, Leah was not asleep and hears their whole exchange about how the Wraith is to use the Lair's power supply to blow it to bits. She decides she cannot keep her secret any longer.
But when she finds Lion-O and Snarf, she still has a hard time letting go of her "secret" until they assure her that it'll be okay. Finally, she explains what really happened with the doll. Lion-O then tracks it down in the power room and they have it out. After he traps the adult cats, the Wraith takes a moment to go back and threaten Leah, who is defiant toward it this time. She goes to get Snarf so he can help her keep it from escaping from her mirror. Snarf is hesitant, but grabs a fire extinguisher on the way back to her room. The wraith taunts him, so Snarf sprays the mirror down with foam. He realizes that covering the mirrors is the way to stop the creature from moving freely about the Lair, so he and Leah rush to foam them all. Once the Wraith is trapped, his trap on the big cats dissipates and all is well.
The Wraith has no choice but to appear in Mumm-Ra's pyramid a failure, and for that, the ASOE destroy him. Mumm-Ra then retires to his sarcophogus for a much-needed rest. In the end, Leah's parents are located in their pods in outer space and brought back to New Thundera to be reunited with her. She also learns and important lesson about talking out her troubles with trusted people and not keeping secrets for strangers.
Might be a weird thing to point out, but Leah is the first Thunderian besides Bengali that is shown with an unusual eye color - blue.
