Welcome to another crack-harpie of an episode written by one notorious Mr. Overgard. Oh but where to begin? *sigh*
First of all, the Kittens are running around the forest with a mechanical dog called Scooper. We won't get into why this is probably his name :-p
The Lunataks jump out and Chilla ices the kittens. Scooper gets away by letting his ears become like copter rotars. Yeah. I know. Can it get any lamer? Oh yeees it can!
Scooper goes crashing through the window at the Tower of Omens, where Panthro, Lion-O and Lynx-O are hanging out. Turns out Scooper was a birthday present to the Thunderkittens from the Berbils (who apparently need to brush up on their gift giving skills as a dog is not a good gift for a *cat*). Concerned about where the kittens are, Lion-O taps into the mechanical dog's monitor device to learn their fate.
As the kittens are led through the woods, the Lunies complain about having to walk thanks to the Thundercats taking out all their vehicles. So Luna gets the idea to have the Kittens lead them to where the ThunderStrike is kept. The kittens point up, and there it is - on the attack! Luna is confident the ThunderCats won't shoot while the kittens are there, but instead, the 'Cats snatch up the Lunies with some nets. Doh!
The Lunataks are brought to a court of sorts before the senior Thundercats. And it is decided that the only humane punishment is exile to a tiny planet called Exile Isle. They're simply beamed up there a la Star Trek of old - who knew the Tcats had that technology!
The Lunies quickly find they're not alone in exile when they run into Captain Cracker (of Mandora and the Pirates infamy). He confirms there's no way off the Isle - ships won't come by and there's no radio to communicate. But of course, Luna happens to have a radio on her.
Before long, a passing space tanker with a strange, humanoid crew passes by. The crew agrees to give Exile Isle a wide berth when they get a distress call. They go for it. Meanwhile, Cracker shows the Lunies a giant bellows on the planet (see, told ya it got worse and stupider lol!), which was used in the old days to send up "the devil's fog" causing lured ships to crash. The Lunies and Cracker pump the bellows and sure enough, the planet is obscured in a thick fog. As predicted, the tanker's crew doesn't see the tiny planet until it's too late. They have just enough time to abandon ship before the main vessel crashes.
Luna fails to see the wisdom in gaining a smashed ship. Until Cracker points out the impact knocked the planet out of orbit, setting them adrift in space. All they have to do is fire the crashed tanker's massive engines so that it pushes them back to Third Earth. Overgardian physics lesson 2,051!
The Thundercats are now at the Tower of Omens and get word from the escaped crew of the Tanker about what happened. They then detour Snarfer, who was on a mission to New Thundera, to go check the location of the Isle. Snarfer finds the Isle and confirms it's on the move. He's told to return home but the Isle chases him down. Snarfer ends up crashing on the Isle.
What's worse is Lion-O learns the tanker had a full load of slam gas, which would ignite into a deadly fireball if it hits Third Earth's atmosphere (nevermind it didn't go off in a crash big enough to knock a planet the size of our moon out of orbit LOL Consistancy is highly overrated, am I right?)
Lion-O decides this calls for a low profile operation, so he is to go alone in the HoverCat to get Snarfer and try to defuse the bomb of a crashed ship. However, he's going to leave the Sword of Omens behind as not to risk it being destroyed in the case that Exile Isle does explode.
Meanwhile, the Lunies think they saw a flash - which was Snarfer crashing - and go out to investigate while Cracker stays behind. It's not long before Snarfer runs into Cracker and makes the mistake of admitting he's allied with the ThunderCats. Not liking Cracker's reaction, Snarfer beats it outta there.
Soon afterward, Lion-O arrives on the Isle. He didn't come completely weaponless, though. He bought a bag of tricks, if you will. First he takes on Chilla and easily sends her packing with rock salt. Yeah. Not a good day for Lunie fans. Next up is Alluro. He thwarts Alluro's powers of persuasion with a lie translator that tells him what Alluro really meant. Doh! Luna is next, and she's easily taken care of by distracting Amok with candy. Oh brother. If the Lunies are this sad, why were they ever that much of a threat?
Lion-O arrives in time to save Snarfer from Cracker's blade (darn). He then orders Cracker to shut down the ship's engines. However, Cracker manages to activate a nearby palm tree that was actually mechanical. Snarfer notices it, and it's a fight for survival as the thing bends and starts spinning its leaves like a giant buzz saw.
Backed into a corner, Lion-O remotely taps into the Sword's power and calls it from where it rests at the Tower of Omens. It grows in size and flies off to Lion-O. Panthro and the kittens see it go and know Lion-O is in trouble, so they follow. Meanwhile, the Sword arrives and takes care of the palm tree by itself.
While that was going on, Cracker barracaded himself inside the ship which keeps Lion-O and Snarfer from getting in to shut down the engines. However, they use the bellows to clog the engines with dirt and disaster is averted. Afterward, the planet is put back in orbit and the Lunies and Cracker right back where they started. However, despite Panthro's assurance they can't possibly escape, the episode closes with the Lunies having successfully converted their little shack to a space ship. Dun-dun-DUH!
This episode needs to be exiled. Ouch.
"What a dump!" - Tug Mug's first impression of Exile Isle.
"Come back here ya pussy lover!" - Captain Cracker's cry to a fleeing Snarfer.
Lion-O: "I feel naked without my sword." Hmmm. Kinky!
"Come back here you big lump of nothing!" - Luna to Amok.
Concerning the mechanical palm tree -
Snarfer: "I wonder what it's going to do?"
Captain Cracker: "It's not going to present you with a coconut, matey."
"Hot stuff! It's slicing that old tin tree up like a banana." - Snarfer.
"There is no way I can lay the Sword of Omens aside. It is a part of me." - Lion-O.
"Shiver my jibbers. We're dead in the water." - Captain Cracker.
Lion-O can call out the ThunderCats Ho! cry over a great distance and not only have the Sword respond, but it'll come to him, too. The sword also fights on its own, kind of like it did in Excalibur.
