This one opens with Captain Bragg camping out with his Circus Train full of Third Earth baddies on Way Out Back, when something crashes from space right into his campfire. Emerging from the pod is no other than Captain Cracker ( from Mandora and the Pirates most notably) and he threatens to do Bragg and Crownan great harm.
At the Lair on New Thundera, Panthro, Lion-O and Snarf listen to an alert letting them know that Cracker escaped from a prison transport in sector five. Lion-O seems unconcerned at first, noting there's "nothing in sector five". That is until Panthro reminds him that Way Out Back is there. Snarf also reminds Lion-O that Snarfer is out there, in the middle of one of his pizza runs to Third Earth. Lion-O suggests they warn Snarfer of the danger. He does get through to Snarfer, but before he can take Lion-O's advice and call Mandora to escort him in, his radio goes on the fritz. So Snarfer does what he thinks will attract Mandora if she's within "10,000 lightyears" - and that's to speed through space.
His ruse works, as she orders him to "pull over" on Third Earth. However, Snarfer is unhappy to still get a ticket from the space cop. But the still speed off together on Mandora's electrocharger to pursue Cracker.
In the meantime, Cracker has set the Lunataks free. Together with them, he locks up Bragg and Crownan in their own train and plots to use the train to fly to Third Earth and exact his revenge by taking the planet over. Bragg figures Crownan is small enough to fit through the bars, but the bird worries he doesn't have the wing power to break orbit (nevermind the small matter of the lack of AIR in space...but then, this is an Overgard episode...and we are talking about stars that are half human, half big cat. Meh). So Bragg straps a fire extinguisher to the bird and shoots him off the little satellite.
Crownan loses steam before he can reach Thundera, but as luck would have it, Mandora catches him in the electrocharger - and gives him a ticket for speeding, too. The bird is annoyed given the dire circumstances before the trio speed back to Third Earth to stop Cracker and the Lunies. They arrive in time to intercept the baddies at the Berbil village and soon there is a showdown between Mandora and the Lunies. Mandora does well with the help of her boomerang. That is, until Red Eye devours it. Those captured are instantly set free, and Crownan defects to Cracker's team.
Concerned that they haven't heard from Mandora yet, the Thundercats decide to depart for Third Earth to check things out. In the meantime, Cracker has strapped Mandora and Snarfer to the Electrocharger - facing backward - and sets the machine on a collision course with a wall of rock. Crownan pursues them and Cracker sends his mechanical bird after him. But Crownan fights Polly off and manages to make the electrocharger take off before it smashes into the rocks. However, they barely miss hitting the incoming Thundercats, who notice the peculiar way everyone is riding on the electrocharger. Lion-O chances a jump from the Feliner to the electrocharger and makes it.
While that is going on, Cracker and his cohorts close in on the Lair where Pumyra is alone. They move in to attack and Pumyra sees them but knows she's in trouble against all those bad dudes. Lion-O also sees the danger in the Sword but fears they won't reach the Lair in time. In an all-too-familiar last season fix, Lion-O calls forth the signal and the Eye defeats the Lunies by bending the Lair's draw bridge so that they all fall into the moat.
Snarfer fishes Cracker out of the moat with the Whisker, and he and the Lunies are put in the Circus Train to be taken back to Way Out Back. Mandora, however, isn't done writing tickets and gives Bragg a few for his vehicle not being up to snuff.
"I might have known it was you, you speed crazy furball." - Mandora to Snarfer.
"I bend minds, not machines." - Alluro
"Thundercats from Heaven." - Crownan, when Lion-O drops from the sky to save them.
"Nothing comes before the law." - Mandora.
For the second time in the series, we're subjected to shrill snarven singing - this time it's Snarfer singing "Hot Rocket Baby". Why, Overgard...WHY??
