Pretty damn good, but not quite purrrfect

Mumm-Ra leaves his pyramid and goes to a giant cave. In this cave, he plans to assemble 4 of Lion-O's most challenging opponents for the Thundercat lord to fight at once. Mumm-Ra then summons Slithe with a warp gas grenade, Spidera, Safari Joe, and Ratar-O. In order to entice Lion-O to come to the cave, he encases these 4 henchmen in paintings that will be on display in a "museum" that will be made to make it seem like the people of Third Earth wanted to make a tribute for the Thundercats. Mumm-Ra then disquises himself as Dr. Dometone and sets out to find Lion-O and bring him to the cave.

Meanwhile, Lion-O and Snarf are out in a forest, looking for Thundrillium. The 2 get seperated and Lion-O soon meets up with the fake Dr. Dometone. Dr. Dometone tells Lion-O about the "new museum" that the Third Earth people have made for the Thundercats. Lion-O then leaves with Dr. Dometone for the museum. Snarf senses that something is wrong and decides to follow the 2. Snarf sees Dr. Dometone taking Lion-O into the cave and the door shutting behind them. He then starts to run back to the Lair to get the others.

Inside the cave, Dr. Dometone shows Lion-O the paintings of Slithe, Spidera, Safari Joe, and Ratar-O. Suddenly, the Safari Joe painting comes to life and Safari Joe emerges from it. A great battle ensues in the cave between the 2. However, Lion-O uses the sword to cause some overhead rocks to fall to the ground and Safari Joe runs back into the painting in fear. Ratar-O jumps out of his painting next to fight Lion-O. As usual, Lion-O uses the sword in the battle and Ratar-O runs back in his painting as well. After the second fight, the fake Dr. Dometone reveals himself to be Mumm-Ra. Mumm-Ra then tells Lion-O that he is conceited for actually believing that the people of Third Earth would build a museum for the Thundercats. Mumm-Ra then takes the warp gas grenade from the Slithe painting and throws it at Lion-O, turning the Thundercat lord into a coward. Lion-O then runs through the cave to get away from the mummy. Meanwhile, Snarf arrives at Cats' Lair and tells Panthro that Lion-O is trapped in the cave. Pantrho then gets the rest of the team and they set out for the cave in the Thundertank.

Back in the cave, Mumm-Ra finds the coward Lion-O and zaps him, knocking him out. The other Thundercats soon arrive at the cave and destroy the entrance. Once inside, they see the 4 paintings that Mumm-Ra has made and assume that Lion-O must be trapped in one of them. Panthro, Tygra, Cheetara, and Snarf enter the Spidera painting in the Thundertank while Wilykit and Wilykat enter the Safari Joe painting on their spaceboards. When Panthro and the others go through the Spidera painting, they end up in the 8 Legs Kingdom. There, Spidera overpowers them and she traps the Thundertank in her webs.

Meanwhile, the Thunderkittens enter a forest when they go through Safari Joe's painting. There, he shoots their spaceboards down with his gun and wraps the twins in seperate bags. Meanwhile, Lion-O wakes up from being zapped by Mumm-Ra and is back to his old self again. He runs back into the main room and sees that the Spidra and Safari Joe paintings have changed, showing that the other Thundercats were captured. A statue of Lion-O then lowers from the ceiling that reads "Lion-O: One-Time Lord Of The Thundercats". This enrages Lion-O and prompts Mumm-Ra to re-appear. Mumm-Ra then jumps on the Lion-O statue and becomes Lion-O's "evil twin", sporting a red uniform, instead of Lion-O's trademark blue one. The Lion-O twins battle and Lion-O realizes that the evil twin is just as powerful as he is. The ghost of Jaga then appears and says that the evil twin is Lion-O's "mirror" image. Lion-O then realizes what Jaga meant and lets the evil Lion-O see his reflection in the sword, revealing Mumm-Ra in his mummy form. Mumm-Ra then transforms to his normal state and retreats back to the pyramid.

Lion-O then uses the sword to free the Thundercats from the Spidera and Safari Joe paintings and all is well again. Back at the Lair, Lion-O tells Snarf that they can have fun now, but Snarf is too tired from the day's events to do anything.

Does every episode have to include Snarf acting like a dork at the end?

Purrsia's Two Cents:

Furthermore, does every episode have to have Mumm-Ra's defeat lie in shiny freakin' objects?? :: fume ::

Favorite Quote:

Lion-O, upon discovering Snarf with a whole candyfruit shoved in his mouth: "C'mon, Snarf! You're supposed to be looking for Thundrillium, not stuffing your face!"

jonny: hey-even if liono and the twin were identicle the sword of omens couldnt be duplicated, so why not kick his ass with that?

GRUMPY: What i don't get is why they send the Thunder Kittens to take on Safari Joe when they were so easily defeated in his first appearance, while all the adult Thunder Cats take on the spider queen together.

leppardra: This is not a favorite episode of mine. This was another shoe-string budget story using recycled scenes from past installments. The animation was a bit better, though.

Caswin: I liked it. Mumm-Ra and company darn near had them, and a climactic clone fight is always fun. Definitely works as a season finale.

Puma: I do say I like the swordfight in the end, very fast paced.
