Pretty damn good, but not quite purrrfect

At the start of this show, we get to hear the voice of the ASOE, which suspiciously sounds just like Panthro, heehee. Anyhow, the evil spirits instruct Mummsie to summon the evil beauty, Tashi, and learn the secret of the power of the Doomgaze. Trouble is, Tashi is trapped on a ship that drifts for eternity in the Time Warp Prison. Lucky for her, Mumms knows the way to get her out. All need be done is gather a tuft of cheetah's hair, a Berbil's tear, and a shoe from an enchanted unicorn. Then, find a hero to take her place in the Time Warp Prison.

So the ThunderCats are minding their own business when Lion-O notices a weird black cloud heading for the Berbil village. Through the Eyes of the Sword he discovers it's no ordinary cloud, but rather a floating jelly-fish type beast. The Tcats arrive at the village in time to see Roberbelle get bear-napped by the man-o-war cloud. Cheetara is fast enought to follow the cloud but runs straight into a trap Slithe set so he could acquire a chunk of her hair. Meanwhile, Lion-O and Snarf run into Jackalman just as he is prying the shoe off an enchanted unicorn.

Deciding that something strange was afoot, Lion-O uses the Sword to see what the heck Mumm-Ra is up to this time. He and Cheetara venture separately to a stone henge-type place where Mumms was beginning the ceremony to summon Tashi from her prison. Though Lion-O and Snarf arrive first, he's too captivated by Tashi's evil beauty to be of much help to Roberbelle as the baddies force her to cry.

Cheetara decides that she's going to take action and begins to kick Mutant ass one by one. Lion-O snaps out of his daze long enough to jump out and become the hero that will take Tashi's place. Though Lion-O summons the others with the Sword, the signal disappears when Tashi traps both Lion-O and Snarf in the doomgaze.

It looks like Lion-O has had it this time, except that when Tashi tries to trap Cheetara in the dooomgaze, she gets a big surprise.

Fave Quote:

Snarf: Who's that?

Lion-O: I don't know but she's *beautiful*!

Snarf: Lion-Oooooooo....

Lion-O: Uh, in an evil sort of way, of course

New Sword Tricks:

While trying to transverse the Crumbling Cliffs of Vertigo, Lion-O uses the SoO to make a beam across a gap in the path to be used as a bridge.

New Places on Third Earth:

Cheetara crosses the Burning Sands of the Phosphorus Desert, While Panthro attempts to drive the Tank through the Field of Daggers.

PKELL: I thought this epsidoe was alright. I liked the parts where Mumm-Ra sent the Mutants to get all the parts needed to complete the spell. I also liked Tashi's design. It's obvious that a lot of work went into her design as they wanted to strike a balance between beautiful and evil, and she could easily pass for both. I always laugh at Lion-O and Snarf's dialogue when she first appears. It's one of the funniest moments in the series.

Anonymous: When Cheetarah proudly announces her immunity to the Doom Gaze, I love the dual "well, shit" looks from Mumm-Ra and Tashi.

Anonymous: I'm curious; why was the Doomgaze power SUPPOSED to work on Cheetara? It seems strange that Mumm-Ra was hoping that Cheetara was a lesbian in order for his plan to work.

Chibi: You'd think that since Tashi has obviously had the Doomgaze for a while that she would know that it wouldn't work on women. Or at lease the ASOE would have told Mumm-Ra
