While riding around in the Thundertank, Lion-O and Panthro see a ship flying out in space toward Third Earth. Inside the ship is the Demolisher, a striped hyeena alien man who has been taking a tour of the galaxy, simply looking for a good fight. However, he doesn't believe he's had a worthy opponent yet and his cheerleader, Dirge, a short armadillo alien tells him about how there are rumors that Mumm-Ra The Ever-Living is the greater fighter in the galaxy. Hearing this, the Demolisher journeys to Mumm-Ra's pyramid to challenge him to a fight. Mumm-Ra laughingly agrees to the challenge and goes outside his pyramid to fight Demolisher. During the great fight, Mumm-Ra underestimates his opponent and is defeated after he sees his reflection in Demolisher's boot. This causes Mumm-Ra to return to his mummy form and retreat back into the pyramid. Mumm-Ra then invites Demolisher and Dirge into the pyramid to show them a fighter that Mumm-Ra feels the Demolisher can never defeat: Lion-O. After seeing Lion-O in Mumm-Ra's cauldron and Mumm-Ra enticing Demolisher, he agrees to find Lion-O and fight him.
Demolisher and Dirge then finds Lion-O and Snarf out on their own and begins fighting Lion-O, even though Lion-O has no idea why. Lion-O tries to reason with Demolisher during the fight, saying that they have no reason to fight each other. After awhile, it looks like Demolisher has Lion-O beaten. But, as always, Lion-O uses the sword to call the other Thundercats to his aide. They arrive and Demolisher accuses Lion-O of being a coward. Lion-O then explains that he called his friends to save Demolisher and not himself, for if Demolisher forces Lion-O to fight any longer, then he will be destroyed. Lion-O then uses his claw shield to pull Demolisher's ship down for orbit and tells Demolisher that if he fights on, that his string of worthless victories will be ended by a pointless defeat and that he should fight for a cause. Demolisher then reveals that he fights only because he doesn't know how to do anything else, and that without fighting, he is nothing and also claims that he doesn't have a cause or believes in anything.
With that, Demolisher grabs Dirge and they leave Third Earth in their ship. Lion-O is disappointed that Demolisher decided not to befriend them, but at least he has fun chasing Snarf around, who somehow ended up with Dirge's drum. :)
Purrsia's Two Cents:
Gah, Dirge...the only thing more annoying than a Snarf. And it would figure Snarf would grab that drum at the end and use it as a tool of annoyance. Typical snarven behavior!
Kevin: So true. I was on ra's side.

PKELL: This is a purely action based adventure and it was a very good one at that. Very simple in terms of story, but The Demolisher carries the story well as he comes across almost like a more violent version of Safari Joe. The message that Lion-O presents is nice too. I don't know if anyone noticed this, but no one won the fight between Lion-O and Demolisher. Lion-O basically refused to fight for no good reason and called the TCats just to make sure that Demolisher would leave and the fight would end without anyone getting hurt.

- Mumm-Ra, even in his small role, was brilliant in this episode. After losing to Demolisher, a lightbulb goes off in his head, and he goads Demolisher into challenging Lion-O. Mumm-Ra was in a win-win situation. Either Lion-O is destroyed and the TCats weakened, or Demolisher is defeated and Mumm-Ra gets vengeanve. Brilliant!
