UK Issued Star ComicsI will be scanning in my issues whenever I have time for you to download in pdf format, in the future. For now, everything in this grouping is at least accounted for in some capacity. Enjoy. #1 SIEGE IN SILVER AND STONE Issued 21 March 1987 Written by David Micheline. Art by Mooney, Breeding & Yomtov Although this merely reprints the events of the US Star comic by the same name (Click here for that review), it does open with a few pages introducing the ThunderCats and their struggle against the Mutants and Mumm-Ra. #2 SIEGE IN SILVER AND STONE Issued 28 March 1987 Written by David Micheline. Art by Mooney, Breeding & Yomtov Indeed, this issue continues the tale told in the US Star comic by the same name (Click here for that review). Art by Mooney, Scotese This issue covers the second half of the US Star comic by the same name (Click here for that review). This one picks up where the ThunderCats plus Lynxana are trying to escape Castle Plundarr, and ends setting up the next issue, Mumm-Ra Times Three. #7 MUMM-RA TIMES THREE Issued 2 May 1987 Written by David Micheline. Art by Mooney, DeMulder Special thanks to Spaced Angel for the scans and information on this issue. Continuation of ongoing story from last issue. After a quick recap, Lion-O says he smells a rat. The power of Sight beyond Sight shows him that Castle Plun-darr has not been destroyed, rather it was an illusion which the Sword dispels. The Mutants charge out to do battle and Mumm-ra appears, as gigantic as ever and claiming to be three times as powerful, thanks to Jaga's powers which he has stolen. After a show of Mumm-ra's new powers, Lion-O persuades Slithe to join forces with the Thundercats to defeat Mumm-ra. After some reluctance, Slithe agrees and everyone, including Lynxana, heads out to attack Mumm-ra's Pyramid and battle commences. First inclusion of 'Thunder-Chat' - reader's letters answered by 'Snarf' #8 MUMM-RA TIMES THREE Issued 9 May 1987 Written by David Micheline. Art by Mooney, DeMulder Download the issue in pdf format. #9 WAKING NIGHTMARE - PART 1 Issued 16 May 1987 Written by Simon Furman. Art by Yeowell, Baskerville Special thanks to Spaced Angel for the scans and information on this issue. Lion-O has nightmares of a creature that attacks his friends and he is unable to help them. He wakes from his dreams, shaken and tired, and unsure whether he should tell the other Thundercats. These events are watched by Mumm-ra, who goes to the Mutants and tells them of his plan to destroy the Thundercats. Dawn, the next day, Lion-O is still sleeping while the others fend off a Mutant assault on the Lair. Still in the grip of his dream, Lion-O hears their cries as they are overwhelmed and he wakes up to find that he is 10-years-old again. #10 WAKING NIGHTMARE Issued 23 May 1987 Written by Simon Furman. Art by Yeowell, Baskerville, and Gilbert This is part two of a story that began in the previous issue. In this installment, Lion-O awakes to find the nightmares he'd been having for the past week have come true. He's awaken to find himself reverted back to a 10 year old cub which means he's unable to even lift the Sword of Omens to help his friends, who are being visciously attacked by Mutants outside the Lair. When Jaga investigates, he's appalled to find Lion-O sitting on the floor of his bedroom sobbing. Of course, Jaga can see that Lion-O hasn't become a child at all. Apparently, Mumm-Ra caused the terrible dreams and now that Lion-O is sleep deprived and events seem to be mirroring the stuff of those nightmares, Lion-O only *thinks* he's a child. So, instead of undermining his confidence farther, Jaga encourages Lion-O to help his friends despite being 'small and weak'. His faith in himself renewed, Lion-O jumps into the fray in time to save his friends. #11 INVASION Issued 30 May 1987 Written by Ian Rimmer. Art by Griffiths, Hine & Place This issue introduces the Berzerkers, who with the help of Slithe, devise a way to ambush and capture all the Thundercats. Now, Slithe has the Sword of Omens and the Berzerkers are free to take over Third Earth. However, Lion-O has a yet-to-be-seen trick up his sleeve in the form of a mysterious invention he brought along with him. I also find it interesting that the comics set it so that Lion-O cannot just tap into the Sword's power whenever he feels like it - there's a refractory period of sorts at play here. Interesting! #12 INVASION Issued 6 June 1987 Written by Ian Rimmer. Art by Griffiths, Hine & Place Download the issue in pdf format.
