Era One -- Third Earth Adventures:

  1. Scarred But Smarter:
  2. Takes place a few months following the Anointment Trials. It's in the spring, around May. One day elapsed time.
An episode-like adventure, the Thunderkittens get into some trouble on a scouting mission and Lion-O rushes off to their aid. Felina is introduced in this chapter as Jaga's daughter and keeper of the Book of Omens. She is invited to rejoin her people at the Cats Lair.

  3. Maps and Legends:
  4. Events occur directly following those of Chapter One.
Another episode-like chapter, this one deals with the Felina's first meeting of Mumm-Ra. Most of the ThunderCats venture into some ancient ruins only to find the place is marked by a curse that won't allow them to leave with their sanity intact. Tygra uses his gift of mind power to save the day.

  5. Tilted:
  6. About three weeks elapsed time since Chapter Two events. Early June.
Mumm-Ra decides to bring Grune back from the dead and put him in charge of a Mutant fleet he magically hi-jacked from Plundarr to attack the ThunderCats. The first major clash of the fan fic, the Thundercats gather their allies to battle it out with the overwhelming forces of evil. Grune hints at his rage concerning Jaga, causing Lion-O to wonder if perhaps the pedestal Jaga is upon might just be cracked.

  7. The Lifting:
  8. Takes place roughly a week after Chapter Three concludes. Mid-June.
Lion-O and Felina learn of their betrothal and Felina returns to live with her friends, the Emites, in light of this news. Later, the Thunderkittens get caught out in a fierce thunder storm, and Cheetara takes a direct hit from a bolt of lightening while helping the kittens to the safety of the Lair. Felina and the Emites are called upon in hopes their holistic skills can help the dying she-cat. Felina performs her first trick with the Book of Omens.

  9. Great Fire:
  10. Occurs in the day immediately following events of Chapter Four.
Having become aware of the awesome power the Book of Omens possesses, Mumm-Ra and Grune venture to the Emite village to "coerce" it from Felina. Having sworn to keep the sacred tome out of the wrong hands, Felina refuses to give it up and the Emite village is burned to the ground. The much-persecuted tribe of Third Earthers once again scatter and go into hiding. Not everyone survives the blaze, however, Felina's friend Amenita being one of those that perished.

  11. Powerline:
  12. A month passes, so Chapter Six occurs in July.
An energy-feeding beast has escaped from his galactic prison and preys upon Third Earth. Everyone from Mumm-Ra and the Mutants to the humble villagers of Third Earth are absorbed by the creature for their energy. When the ThunderCats get their turn to battle Ergus, only Lion-O remains to defeat the beast and save his friends as well as his enemies.

  13. Tenderness:
  14. Yet another month elapses, and Lion-O and Felina wed in August.
This chapter covers the awkwardness of a pre-arranged marriage between Lion-O and Felina.

  15. Reign of Blows:
  16. Two weeks have passed since the previous chapter, making it late August.
A pivotal chapter, it begins with the rumors of war. The Mutants, on Mumm-Ra's not-so-subtle suggestion, embark on a mass terrorism plot. Their hope is to hit too many places at once for the ThunderCats to deal with, thus forcing them to split up so Mumm-Ra can pick them off one by one. He succeeds in capturing Felina, yet she ends up in a secret base the Mutants built amid the old tunnels under the Desert of Sinking Sands. She not only finds a massive bomb the Mutants plan on dropping on the Lair, she also discovers a jackal pup. Meanwhile, the others fight to keep the chaos under control. In the end, Panthro suffers a debilitating injury. It is also learned that Cheetara is pregnant.

  17. Destination:
  18. Occurs in the early morning hours and into the following day of Chapter Eight.
Exhausted from the events of the previous chapter, Felina collapses into a deep sleep. She's prompted by the ghost of her father to have a vivid dream of her own flight from the dying Thundera, in hopes she'll remember what happened to the Key of Thundera.

  19. Pray:
  20. Covers the evening and into the follwing day of Chapter Nine.
Upon awaking from her dream, Felina sets off to retrieve the Key and Lion-O follows. During their quest, the two learn more about one another and grow a bit closer.

  21. Everything Falls Apart:
  22. Two months later, late October.
First, the Kittens turn 13. Then, after months of keeping to separate chambers, Lion-O and Felina finally give into carnal curiosity and consummate their union. Later, while Lion-O is trapped with some Berbils in a suspicious Thundrillium mine collapse, Mumm-Ra impersonates the ThunderCat Lord to capture Felina and the Book of Omens. Having gained the Book and the Key of Thundera, Mumm-Ra demands that the Thundercats hand over the Sword of Omens lest he destroy Felina. To prevent such a thing, Felina envokes the wrath of the gods from the Book, a dangerous spell that not only brings down the Black Pyramid, but nearly destroys the ThunderCats as well.

  23. Egoverride:
  24. Yet another few months elapse. So this chapter occurs around December.
While the Black Pyramid is in shambles and Mumm-Ra has yet to be heard from, the ThunderCats decide to take advantage of the quiet to go inside the Book of Omens and learn a history lesson. Lion-O and Felina venture back in time to Ancient Egypt and discover the origins of Mumm-Ra. Meanwhile, the Mutants carry out their plot to snatch the Sword of Omens while Lion-O is inside the Book. They succeed, hurting the 5-months pregnant Cheetara in the process. All this only to have little Jax replace the Sword atop the Book of Omens just in time to bring Lion-O and Felina back. Jax pays for this action, however, as he is carried off to Castle Plundarr, as is Panthro.

  25. Defender:
  26. Events in this chapter immediately follow the previous one.
The plot revolves around getting Panthro and Jax out of Castle Plundarr. Lion-O goes against the advice of his elders and rushes off in the daylight to rescue them. A heavy price is paid as WilyKit is nearly killed in the ensuing ambush. Felina's snarf companion, Bela, is not so fortunate and they don't even succeed in rescuing their friends. Luckily, Panthro made his own way out. Kit's Spaceboard was shot down and taken by the Mutants, Vultureman having a particular interest in it. Lion-O, feeling horrible for the tragic results of his impetuousness, heads off into the night and comes upon the wreck of their original spacecraft. Here is where he finds a box of documents and among them, a letter penned to him by his father, Claudus.

  27. Bizarre Love Triangle:
  28. This one happens directly following Chapter Thirteen's conclusion.
Felina finds some of her father’s writings and her mother’s diary and letters amid the papers Lion-O had retrieved from the wreckage. She realizes the scope of the Jaga/ Leonda /Grune connection and this discovery deepens her doubts concerning arranged marriages.

  29. Whatever:
  30. This chapter happens partly in tandem with Chapter Fourteen.
While Felina learns about her parents through the late-night reading of old letters, Jax gets caught vandalizing Vultureman's lab. Vultureman's solution is to haul Jax off to the black pyramid where he gets zapped back to his unhappy home on Plundarr.

  31. Deliver Us From the Elements:
  32. Cheetara gives birth among strong early spring storms and flooding. Panthro nearly loses his good leg, and Felina and Tygra go for an unintended frigid swim.

  33. The Devil You Know:
  34. Takes place the following morning of the previous chapter. A race is on as Mumm-Ra uses the Book of Omens to go back through time with the goal of finding the patriarch of Lion-O's bloodline and assassinating him. Lion-O must try to stop him before it's too late. Much history and backstory as to the origins of Thunderian-kind as well as the Treasures of Thundera are learned about in the meantime.

  35. Runaways:
  36. Directly follows the events of the previous chapter - Lion-O wonders about his connection with the Eye while everyone recovers from flooding, injuries and illness...and he and Felina wonder about Jax's fate. Meanwhile, Jax's fate is revealed as the story moves to Plun-Darr. And unbeknownst to the Thundercats, but the fate of the jackal cub will have a ripple effect on their own.

  37. Invisible Man:
  38. A few months later (early summer), life is getting back to normal. That is until Tygra finds himself in conflict with the Mutants which lands him into a situation where his fears and his past issues with water may very well do him in.

  39. Red Mosquito:
  40. Leaves off where the prior chapter ended. Tygra's fate is revealed and more is learned about the other Thunderians (Bengali etc) that landed with Felina on Third Earth. After all the drama with Tygra is over and a fight with the Mutants ends, their troubles have only just begun. Both Lion-O and Velouria fall ill with Lion-O becoming delusional and thereby becoming a danger to himself and others.

  41. What Difference Does It Make?:
  42. Monkian meets with his source, whose identity is revealed. He learns the Thundercats are searching for more of their kind of Third Earth. Things go sour between the two and Monkian resolves to be finished with her. Meanwhile, Lion-O's frustration with the fruitless search manifests into a big argument with Felina with both saying hurtful things to one another. Felina elects Tygra to be the benefactor of her knowledge. Later, Panthro and Lion-O take a ride to the Treetop Kingdom, and Panthro advises Lion-O to apologize. At the Kingdom, there's still no word from the southern tribes - though nobody but the source knows the carrier hawk had been intercepted and there would be no reply.
That night Lion-O apologizes and things seem to be on the mend. He tries to find out something of the missing countrymen with the Book and the Sword, which using the combo of the two has increased in risk lately. Nothing happens, however, so Cheetara enduces a trance and sees the trio might be near a mountain surrounded by Thundranium. Tygra suggests they don't do anything rash and still urges everyone to wait til he and Panthro can finish the Feliner, not to mention their need to find out more about this location. Lion-O decides that maybe he will go the Maidens' festival the following day to see what he can find out. Afterward, it seems Felina is still upset about their fight earlier, and rebuffs him.

  43. Standing At The Gate:
  44. Everyone but Tygra goes to the Treetop festival and learn a few surprising things about their Warrior Maiden neighbors - most pointedly, their own views on relationships and men. Lion-O and Felina continue to delve into immature tactics and it's decided they need to spend some time apart. Arilla observes their confrontation and calls Monkian on a communicator, who is not happy to be awoken in the middle of the night. Undeterred, Arilla decides to befriend Felina in hopes of using the girl for her own means.

  45. The Last Time:
  46. Weeks later, Lion-O is on his way back from a trip he'd taken on foot to try to find his countrymen. His comes up empty, but has had time to think on some of his other problems too. He thinks Felina has been trying to tell him she's ready for a baby, so he returns home with the promise of a fresh start and a proposal to begin a family. In the meantime, the Feliner construction has been buzzing along, as have lessons for Tygra in the old tongue. Felina has been impressed with his progress and has developed quite a crush on the striped one in the meantime - fueled by her aggrivation that Lion-O left on his little trip without notice or so much as a goodbye. But when he returns, she finds his fresh attitude alluring and his proposal promising - hoping a child will bring the two of them closer together. Things seem to be going well until a slip of the tongue on Felina's part at a most inopportune time sends Lion-O reeling back into self-doubt and suspicion.
However, before the two of them can sort it out, Mumm-Ra arrives disguised as a Berbil with the promise of a message awaiting them in the Treetop Kingdom regarding their missing countrymen. At the same time, the Mutants lie in wait along the path to the Treetop Kingdom in the hopes to ambush the 'Cats on their way to answer their own bogus message. The Mutants end up unwittingly thwarting Mumm-Ra while they get their hides handed to them by the Thundercats. With Mumm-Ra knowing about their mission, the Thundercats push the finishing touches on the Feliner into overdrive.

  47. Shotgun Down the Avalanche:
  48. A few days later, the Feliner makes her maiden voyage and must crash land on Hook Mountain. Panthro, Lion-O and Felina must spend a stormy night in Snowman's castle as the couple reach a heartbreaking turning point in their relationship.

  49. Science of Silence:
  50. Tygra struggles with the news that his daughter's illness (Red Mosquito) had a long-term effect in the form of deafness. He and Cheetara lean on one another for courage and comfort. Felina, at first in denial, realizes by chapter's end that she is expecting and the news gets out. She and Lion-O try to come to terms with their impending parenthood while still adjusting to the fractured state of their relationship. The Mutants are spying on the Lair at the behest of Mumm-Ra, looking for movement as to the missing Thunderians. Arilla makes an appearance and she and Monkian talk. Unknown to them, the Thunderkittens did a little spying of their own and overhear some of the conversation, part of which was a sinister hint as to what to do about the child Felina carries. Arilla later delivers a stag to the Lair as a gesture of goodwill from the Maidens, and the Thunderkittens come by afterward and tell Panthro what they've learned. Panthro takes care of the spying Mutants with the balista, and vows not to let harm come to the unborn cub.

  51. Overkill:
  52. The Thundercats are finally ready to take flight in the Feliner again, and have a clearer idea of where to begin their search for the missing Thunderians. Felina insists on going this time, but not out of spite. Lion-O, in an overprotective mode that amounts to overkill, isn't happy about it either. Snarf suggest that Lion-O try to truly start over by courting Felina. Tygra stays behind with the Thunderkittens, hoping to perfect a hearing device for his daughter. Four of them set out in the Feliner and locate Fire Rock Mountain, only to find Grune had been waiting there to snare them the whole time. Mumm-Ra, having wrested the Thunderscope from off-guard Thunderkittens, is also on his way to interfere. Ratar-O, having come on a mission from Plund-arr after Jax's tales and drawings pique the interest of the Mutants there in the Eye again, has also arrived on Third Earth and meets up with Slithe and his crew. It ends with the Feliner disabled, with the 'Cats trapped inside lest they get exposed to copious amounts of Thundranium.

  53. Only:
  54. Mumm-Ra and Grune fight over possession of the downed Thundercats, while Captain Shiner shows up in the Vertis having been hired by Mumm-Ra to find the location in the first place using the Thunderscope. He plots to beam them aboard for extra insurance that he get his pay day. Grune is enraged that the downed Feliner is lost in a sea of molten Thundranium after a stray shot sends the disabled ship sailing to a cruel fate. However, Shiner appears with the Sword of Omens, which Mumm-Ra takes. Grune then demands the Thundercats from him, and he has little choice but to oblige. Alone with his captives, Grune torments Lion-O in particular and presents the Lord of the Thundercats with an impossible choice. Just when it seems all their fates are sealed, Cheetara comes through and Grune is down for the count. They are then free to rescue the trio of missing Thunderians, only they have no transport off the mountain and can't even really go outside the caverns without being overcome by the Thundranium. Ratar-O shows up, and though disarmed, the Thundercats get the upper hand and demand to be teleported on board the Rat Star and brought to Mumm-Ra's pyramid to get the Sword of Omens back. Ratar-O obliges because Mumm-Ra earlier stole the Sword of Plundarr from him, which he'd found in the debris of Thundera on his way to Third Earth. Ratar-O wants it back, but is injured when he tries to retrieve it. The Sword of Omens recovered and Mumm-Ra defeated, despite his resistance to the horrors of his own reflection now, the Thundercats return home. Lion-O and Felina, in the aftermath of their ordeal, come together again as they are forced to share a room once more. Meanwhile, Grune awakes vowing revenge and the death of Lion-O as his sole focus. Much is learned about his history, his resistance to Thundranium, and other factors that led to his current state of mind besides Jaga's betrayal.

  55. Last Goodbye:
  56. Some time has passed, and Lion-O has healed from his ordeal on FRM. Felina's pregnancy has progressed, but she balks at the idea that her size indicates a possibilty of multiples. She's still adamant to have the Warrior Maidens assist in the birth when the time comes, so she, Lion-O and Panthro set out for the Treetop Kingdom to discuss arrangements although Panthro still has strong misgivings. Once there, he pulls Nayda aside to question her about Arilla. While there, sink holes open up in the forest, caused by giant underground worms that create underground tunnels, and several of them are left to deal with how to navigate the maze and surface. Panthro let's Nayda lead on, while Lion-O and Felina, trapped together elsewhere, have a harder time deciding what to agree upon. Their breif reunion after facing Grune at FRM has waned, and they're bickering now more than ever. What's worse, a giant tree was made unstanble and falls toward the hole where they're trapped, and Lion-O's thigh is skewered by a splintered branch. Injured, they're faced with more obstacles, not to mention their sure way out was blocked. The new recruits, in the meantime, had gone with Tygra and Cheetara to a Wollo wedding in an effort to get to know the peoples of Third Earth. Though they feel like they don't fit in, Bengali is now determined to become one of the team. When Lion-O sends the signal up, Tygra and Cheetara have to leave the celebration. Bengali insists on going along, but he and Pumyra have trouble keeping up and both couples find themselves likewise in the underground labyrinth. What's worse is Grune, still smarting from his last defeat, also sees the signal and comes to take advantage of Lion-O's predicament, taunting and threating the others along the way. Slithe and the Mutants are left behind to ponder the meaning of Ratar-O's shocking fate, which turns out beneficial for them in the end. Lion-O nearly meets his end, but thanks to the newbies, he survives. Therefore, the new trio are given Thundercat status. Afterward, Lion-O realizes it is truly over between he and Felina. They say their last goodbyes to any notions of romance.

  57. A Magic World:
  58. It's now springtime. Velouria nears her first birthday and Felina is only a week or two away from having her cubs. In the interest of getting some peace, The other Thundercats plan to pay a visit to the Black Pyramid and use some knowledge gleaned from events in Chapter 12 to see if they can reduce Mumm-Ra to a managable nuisance by toppling one or more of the statue idols. This seems more dire than ever since Mumm-Ra has become more powerful, most recently having overcome his aversion to his own reflection. Only Pumyra and Snarf are left behind with Felina at the Lair, until Pumyra is called out on a medical emergency the Wollos are having. Felina, feeling achy and tired, heads to bed. But before long, she has a "dream" about being trapped in an inferno that engulfs the Lair and the surrounding familiar countryside, and follows her father's voice into the wilderness. She awakes, confused and frightened in unfamiliar territory in the middle of the night. She'd been sleepwalking, and is determined to make her way back home, when she finds herself halted by the onset of labor. Meanwhile, the Thundercats struggle but meet with success at the Pyramid. Mumm-Ra isn't finished off, but he won't be trouble for a long time to come. Upon returning home at daybreak, they find out that Felina is missing and set out to find her with help from the Sword. She and the babies faired well considering, and are found alive and fine. Indeed, the pair were blessed with twins - a girl and a boy.

  59. Trouble With Dreams:
  60. Some dreams lay in tatters, while others are stubbornly clung to, this chapter serves as an epilogue of sorts to Era One while Cheetara's ominous dreams harken the darker times to come. The ASOE, Arilla, and Jaga all have things to ponder while Lion-O and Felina adjust to the challenges of parenthood.
